Former patient
"There’s a doctor present at the clinic around the clock,
and I found the Mexican MD’s very professional and much more
personable than the ones I was used to north of the border. Some
had had 25 years experience with alternative methods in addition
to their normal medical training. I was surprised to find them sitting
down with me in my room twice each day getting to know my specific
needs and willing to answer any questions I
might have. Amazing…
The dining room by the pool was gathering place for what quickly
felt like “family” and almost everyone commented sooner
or later that they could share things here they couldn’t at
home. We laughed a lot. The food seemed endlessly varied in spite
of fitting within specific guidelines and was fresh, pure and beautiful
to behold, the kitchen was filled with the tinkling laughter of
the ladies who served us.
I think what surprised me most about my stay at the clinic was
the level of joy there. I would have expected it to be more serious
and heavy, what with people coming there to be healed of “serious”
illnesses. Yet there was optimism in the air. Even the most challenged
patient seemed happy after a few days in that atmosphere. And the
staff – the doctors, nurses, cooks,
gardeners, managers and maids -- also seemed happy, just to be doing
exactly what they were doing. I marveled at the young Mexican ladies
in the kitchen. Hourly juices were served with the sweetest smiles
ALWAYS. There was a care
and concern that was genuine.
The only way I could explain it was that people who staffed that
clinic knew they were helping people to help themselves, and they
knew they were doing something worthwhile. The patients seemed to
feel empowered, as if they were being given back charge of their
own destinies -- a sense quickly lost in the world of established
medicine. It was a nice feeling, and it caught on all around. The
time flew by, and now I’m making my own juices at home and
remembering those smiles that came with each juice there…
and the dear new friends who are making their own juices now in
so many places in the world…"
